The Community Development Department is the catalyst for the development of affordable housing construction and rehabilitation efforts of the Suffolk community. The division identifies resources, drafts and implements capital improvement plans, manages public and private partnership opportunities and creates homeownership opportunities. Our programs are designed to support initiatives inspired by architects, engineers and planners to develop and improve our community by enhancing the living and working conditions of residents. The measure of our success is improved quality of life for our residents.
Services provided to families and individuals who lack affordable decent, safe and sanitary housing. We offer clients pre-purchase counseling, homebuyer education, and financial and debt management services. Down payment and closing cost assistance is available to eligible applicants.
