Resolution 1178

Resolution of Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority Approving a Standard of Conduct for all meetings of the Board of Commissioners

WHEREAS: The Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority Board of Commissioners realizes that meetings of the Board of Commissioners present opportunities for citizens to receive information relative to the Board's mutual and collective responsibility for defining policies, goals, actions and achieving clear and tangible outcomes; and

WHEREAS: Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority is of the opinion that it is a citizen's right to attend the meetings of the Board of Commissioners and for individual perspectives to be expressed at the appropriate time in accordance with Resolution No. 625, approved by the Board of Commissioners on March 13, 1990;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
During any meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, it is prohibited for citizens and/ or guests to carry on side discussions with another citizen or guest. This is not limited to talking, laughing, whispering and physical gestures.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT:
Failure to comply with this mandate will result in removal from the meeting.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT:
The Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority Board of Commissioners approves the Standard of Conduct policy with the approval of this resolution.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT:
The Executive Director of Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing  Authority is hereby granted authority to post this resolution in the Board Room and execute the Standard of Conduct policy on behalf of the Board of Commissioners.
